Varsity Girls Tennis

Girls played a good game. The match was to play five 8 game pro sets where you won the set by being the first team to 8, win by 2. They won 3 out of the 4 sets played, forfeiting the final fifth game. 1st singles: Samaya Singh won her set 8-0 by showing great ball placement with pinpoint shots. 2nd Singles: Daniela Prieto Molina won her set 8-2. She demonstrated great control and consistency in her groundstrokes. 3rd Singles: Emma Hogan won her set 8-1. Her serving throughout the set was fantastic. 1st Doubles: Kelsey McMillin and Selina Wang played a phenomenal game. They had great team work and adapted very quickly to having a strong net game with quick reflexive shots. Though they fought their hardest they ended up losing their set 4-8 after a strong comeback in the last 3 games.

Girls had a great and hard fought match today. The match was played best of 3 sets where each set was first to 6 games, win by 2. We won the match 3-2, forfeiting second doubles, but each game was well fought and had everyone on the edges of their seats! 1st Singles: Samaya Singh won her sets 2-0 with set score of 7-5 and 6-4. That was a high paced game which Samaya met with her endurance and powerful hits. 2nd Singles: Daniela Prieto played some of the most intense sets of the day. She won 2-0 with set scores of 7-6 and 6-4. She won the first set by a 7 point tie breaker which she won 7-4. 3rd Singles: Emma showed off her court movement and strong hits in her match up today. She won 2-0 with a set score of 6-0 and 6-1. She won some points on her strong serve alone. 1st doubles: This was one of the best and hardest fought matches I saw our doubles team Kelsey McMillin and Selina Wang play. Though they lost 1-2 they had a great come back in the second set winning the second set 6-2. They went to a tie breaker for match. They showed great strategy and court movement, not to mention their team work was phenomenal.

All girls showed great sportsmanship. Each won their match 2-0 with both teams forfeiting their second doubles.

Perkiomen had a great tennis match today with Woodlynde. It was the last home match for the Seniors who were all excited to be playing. they showed great leadership and sportsmanship in the court and had a good overall match. The match was played best 2 out of 3 sets with both teams forfeiting their second doubles. Special shout out to the seniors (Samaya, Daniela, Selina, Abirami, and Anna) who all had a great season.
